S.L.A.P. (Saving Lives Assisting People) is excited to host the first annual Voices of Opportunity Youth Solutions Rally. The recent shootings in Dallas bring to the forefront yet again another senseless act of violence happening in our urban communities. The goal of this event is to celebrate the voices of our future leaders. It is important to listen to how these young leaders feel about what is happening in their communities and their ideas for solutions to change the culture of violence.
Tupac once said, “I'm not saying I'm gonna rule the world or I'm gonna change the world, but I guarantee you that I will spark the brain that will change the world. And that's our job, It's to spark somebody else watching us.”
“Tupac said it best, it truly is our job to inspire and build up our youth,” said King Ashoka, founder of S.L.A.P. “They are living in this community everyday and we owe it to them to work to change the culture of violence they have come to know.”
S.L.A.P. will provide a positive and special family event for our youth to enjoy. The rally will also include youth speakers, music, free food, a bounce house city, free haircuts, face painting and more. We look forward to seeing you this Saturday, June 29.
